John Terry keen on Ashley Cole reunion if new Derby County owners come calling

The Aston Villa assistant manager has been touted as a potential replacement for Phillip Cocu, following his dismissal by the Championship strugglers last month

John Terry would look to take Ashley Cole to Derby as part of his management team.

Former Chelsea captain Terry is a front-runner for the managerial job at the Championship club with a new takeover consortium set to seize control at Derby.

They are keen on Terry who is currently assistant boss at Aston Villa but has made no secret of his desire to become a manager in his own right.

Terry believes Cole - now an academy coach at Chelsea and a TV pundit - could make the step up and MK Dons assistant boss Luke Williams may also be in his sights.

Wayne Rooney has been in temporary charge and has called for clarity on the managerial situation

He would also like to stay involved and is keen to become a boss in the future.
