The University of New Orleans baseball program started in 1969. Eric Rasmussen was the first former Privateer to make it to the Major League level.
The Privateers are a relatively new baseball team that has already had more major league players than hundreds of other universities. Perhaps they sing their fight song stronger than the other schools:
