Todd Lichti’s reign as Stanford’s all-time scoring leader ended after 26 years when Chasson Randle ended the 67-60 victory over Old Dominion with 2,350 points.

Lichti, 48, lives in Melbourne, Australia, with his wife, Sue, and 10-year-old son Bronx (named after a rugby player). He also keeps busy with his wine distribution business, yet he was well-aware that his 2,336 points were now second on Stanford’s list.

“I think I’ve heard about every point he’s scored in the last two months via Twitter,” Lichti said, laughing during an interview with local writer Mark Soltau.

Lichti, a 6-foot-4 guard from Concord, told Soltau he knew the record would fall sooner or later.

“In jest, I just sometimes say I baby-sat it for a while,” he said.

Lichti said he was lucky to have the record as long as he did. Adam Keefe ended his career three years after Lichti, 17 points behind the scoring leader.

“We could easily be talking about him right now,” Lichti said.
