Nick Castellanos is headed to the big leagues.

Castellanos, infielder Danny Worth and pitcher Evan Reed will join the Detroit Tigers in time for their game Sunday afternoon against the Cleveland Indians, MLive.com has confirmed.

The news was first reported by John Wagner of the Toledo Blade.

Tigers manager Jim Leyland said after the game Saturday night that there were no further roster moves to announce but that he expected three players to join the team Sunday. General manager Dave Dombrowski is expected to announce the moves to media members Sunday morning.

The Tigers currently have 39 players on their 40-man roster, so they have room to add Castellanos without making a corresponding move.

Castellanos homered for the second consecutive game Saturday night. He hit .276 with 18 home runs and 76 RBIs in 134 games for Toledo this season.

It seemed likely that the Tigers would recall a right-handed pitcher Sunday after making a pair of moves Saturday left them one pitcher short in the bullpen. The Tigers promoted left-hander Phil Coke and infielder Hernan Perez on Saturday while sending pitchers Jeremy Bonderman and Luke Putkonen to the minors temporarily.

Whether or not Worth would be recalled was tough to tell. Perez has clearly passed him on the depth chart in the minds of the Tigers. Worth got off to a slow start this season before spending a good chunk of time on the disabled list. He posted good offensive numbers in June but slowed again after that.
