Rochester, N.Y. — St. John Fisher College students take the floor Friday night for the 40th annual Teddi Dance for Love.
The 24-hour dance marathon has raised more than $1.8 million for Camp Good Days and Special Times nonprofit organizations.
The event goes from 8 p.m. Friday until 8 p.m. Saturday.
Proceeds from the fundraiser support the Teddi Project, which sends a group of children on a week-long trip to amusement parks in Florida.
"I know cancer is something that affects everyone, and unfortunately it has affected too many children," said Liliana Rucci , chair of the event. "To be able to give back to kids at Camp good Days and give them a piece of their childhood that they don't get everyday is really rewarding and really special to us."
The dance is dedicated to Landon Coia, who passed away from a rare sarcoma in Nov. 2021 at three-years-old.
