Robert Bennett (Dix) is a stockbroker who is very carefree with other people's money. Encouraging clients to buy stocks in companies that are failing is all in a day's work to him. His girlfriend Dorothy Hall has to raise $40,000 for a charity project, comes to him with $10,000 to invest from her charity group, and wants him to double it within five days.
Meanwhile, E. M. Burke (Churchill), Frank Connelly (Bartels), and Clarence Van Dyke (Sparks) bet Bennett they will pay him $10,000 if he tells the truth for 24 hours. The men later go to a nightclub where they meet Sabel and Mabel Jackson (Gibson and Helen Kane), who are a gold-digging sister act.

(Alternative Information from me to you, this is the VHS version, some parts are missing to the end of the movie, including Helen Kane's performance of "Do Something" But if you dislike her voice, im sure you wouldn't mind, apart from that the film is in full, and better quality than Dangerous Nan Mcgrew).

Subject: Boring?
Subject: Boring?
IMDB says Paramount Productions sold hundreds of
...
movies made between 1929 and 1949, to MCA/Universal in 1958 for television distribution, but that this wasn’t one of them. This copy seems to have been recorded from television.
It's interesting to note that Wikipedia states that this movie was released on April 20th 1929. About 6 months later on October 29 of the same year, Wall Street Crashed.
Just as it is today, crooked stockbrokers made a bundle in the 20's scamming those who lost everything in the crash. Nowadays, we are more sophisticated. Our stockbrokers and investment bankers manipulate the market, fleece the public, and escape prison and we yawn.
I rather enjoyed this film and don’t understand how Vintagefan01 could say it was boring. Sure, it’s not as exciting as stock footage of a road in Mount Dandenong, but what can compare with that? Of course, I haven’t taken my meds for a few days either. I excite easily.

Written 1916 by James Montgomery (1882–1966) copyright expiry will depend on the jurisdiction (eg. Australia ... would be 1966 plus 70 years or copyright expiry in 2036)
There are two versions of the stage play script

...
class this as the original and as the best! Gwynne & Helen star as Golddigging sisters, Mabel & Sabel, and no not the animal crossing kind! If only some of the singing parts were not missing, this would have been a great movie. I give this film a total of 3 stars, becuse they cut out the best part, in my oppinion, which was Do Something!
