Health Officals Prepare For Covid-19 Vaccine Rollout
Preparations for the rollout of COVID-19 vaccines have begun for medical professionals.
Minister for Health and Medical Services Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete said: “We have already worked on the number of vaccinations we will need and the pre-orders made,” he said.
“The groundwork that we are doing at the moment is ensuring that we get rid of the communicable diseases that’s happening because we don’t want to be burdening ourselves on our focus of vaccinations when we make a rollout.
“The vaccine will prevent you from getting infected but it will not stop you from transmitting the virus.”
He said the rollout of vaccinations would be a vulnerable window for the Ministry.
“What we want to do is work very quickly with the communities to stop all the outbreaks, the fever happenings and then we begin the vaccinations.
“Our staff are being trained and prepared for the rollout of the vaccination campaigns.”
