EDUCATION & Theological Education

ABOUT
The Education and Theological Education Committee promotes lifelong education by means of studies, reflections, contacts, and exchange of information. It recognizes and shares the diversity of perspectives in Wesleyan and Methodist traditions of education and seeks a shared vision and mission to support the educational work of the several member churches of the World Methodist Council.
Training for ministry is based on Christian beliefs with distinctive emphases from the Wesleyan tradition with consideration of global awareness and lifting expectations for theological institutions, educators, curriculum and students.
Worship and Liturgy are recognized as an essential part of each committee, in our daily lives, and as part of our language, corporate and private reverence, while keeping a truly Christan worship, yet acknowledging indigenous cultures. The importance of Family Life is an intricate part of each committee, working to enable wholeness of body, mind and spirit within families.
The Committee seeks to provide a vision, awareness, and commitment in a global setting, and to offer encouragement. All work involves persons, institutions, and partners around the world.
A major means of achieving the Education and Theological Education Committee’s objectives is through involvement with the International Association of Methodist Schools, College and Universities (IAMSCU).
