Karim means generous.
Karim Khan was originally a General of Nader Shah Afsharid
Karim Khan was always concerned about the masses and looked out for their benefits.
Karim Khan Zand was a compassionate, just and a generous soul.
Karim Khan built many famous historical sites in Shiraz (his capital), such as:
Hamam-e Vakil (Public Bathhouse of Vakil)
Bazaar-e Vakil (Bazaar of Vakil)
Vakil = Defender, Lawyer, Representative (referred to Karim Khan’s title of Vakil ol Roaya)
Important Note
Karim Khan Zand’s title was “Vakil ol Roaya” (Representative of the Masses)
Throughout his reign, Karim Khan has never referred to himself as a Shah but he always called himself “Vakil ol Roaya” which means “Defender of the People” or “Representative of the Masses”.
