Description
"It is designed to be as simple and user-friendly as possible" states the page. But then the first problem comes for the 'normie" or a new comer: the downloaded file has to be made executable (and terminal is encouraged there) which most beginners don't even understand what it is, nor would start up proceeding to copy-paste commands).
Doing this through file manager's Properties option is already too much, too. Believe me, i have witnessed many initially interested in Linux just saying straight out "f*ck it" upon this kind of stuff.
So the solution for this would be a Snap or a Flatpak package. Best both. Meaning: install from distro's app center with a click like normal people require and want it to be. Linux usage can be as easy as a game console experience if developers make it so in their area, really.
"The only requirements are fuse3 (or fuse2) and coreutils (or other POSIX compliant basic utilities). And your /tmp directory should allow files execution (which it does by default on most distros)".
---More total confusion (and f*ck it dimension) for a poor normie. These fuses and coreutils could also be packed inside a Flatpak or a Snap. Let's take advantage of these modern technologies making everyones life on Linux easier?
- Usage. Once again the "CLI" usage (so terminal) is preferred there.
Just look at this stuff through the eyes of a normie and please try to understand what i mean here:
The solution: just offer the "GUI" (the sane and normal way for people to use a computer) as the first thing there?
There is also more - but not continuing longer now before response to these notions. So sorry if this came out as ranty but these thoughts came up right away finding this project as it claimed itself as user friendly as possible.
