Steps to reproduce:

• use latest void linux
• alacritty version 0.15.1
• use alacritty for a while (usually I can use alacritty for 0-3 hours without a problem)
• at some point, full memory is used and the system freezes completely.

I only managed to figure out that alacritty is the culprit because I was able to open htop right before computer froze completely, and I noticed memory use percentage for alacritty to be 44% which is ridiculous for a computer with 16GB ram.

Older versions of alacritty (from 6 months ago or so did not have this issue)
