Description
I open NotepadNext in the morning. I have some 30 files open as I have setup, restore session
option. There are one or two large large text files (about 1.6Mb). I keep editing one of these large files with new text. If I don't save these files and NN is open for many hours, i.e. till evening. A few files have a changes and are in modified status. On pressing Ctrl+S NN crashes. All changes are lost and when I start it again. None of the changes are visible and none of the files show changed status, i.e. they are not "modified". I did suspend the laptop I am working on, once or twice during the day, in case that make any difference to NN.
I searched for temporary files to desperately find a way to find my changes and tried to find any clues in Debug log but didn't find anything that could help me get the changes back.
Sometimes NN has crashed on its own earlier without even Ctrl+S being pressed. I wasn't sure earlier but I realized I was loosing changes after a few days. If NN is open for shorter duration, it works fine and the session is restored with file changes and modified status of files but if it's open for long duration it seems to become unstable.
I have also lost all my bookmarks also earlier on these larger files, i.e. just the bookmarks.
Steps to Reproduce
- Keep NotepadNext open on Ubuntu 22.04 for 10-12 hours
- Make changes to a few decently large files, i.e. at least 1.5Mb. DO NOT Save the changes.
- After 12 hours of staying open, it might crash without saving or retaining changes.
- On restarting, all changes, modifications and modified status of each changed file is lost.
