I was wondering the same.

I went with Logseq over Obsidian (and everything else) because it was plaintext-based and open source.

Have also been paying for sync (even though I hardly use it) for the same reason, to support it.

But now it feels more and more like someone is preparing the switch part og a "bait and switch".

I had the same reasons as you for choosing Logseq over Obsidian. But I have to say, my experience using it alongside iCloud for syncing between my Mac and iPhone has been quite horrible. I persist because it's FOSS but if it stops being so, I will switch to something else.

I also wish that the team communicated their roadmap / future plans more clearly, either through an in-app notification or a link somewhere in the app. Because as an end user, I just noticed that the updates stopped coming and that long standing issues still continue to exist and that didn't leave the best impression on me.

Same here. That's their moat even though some foss alternatives are more and more interesting like anytype

I recommend Obsidian over LogSeq if they are going with another model. Obsidian works well over Icloud and there are multiple sync plugins.

Oh i'm sure it's awesome. But FOSS is paramount for me.

If all FOSS PKM project end up baitswitching i'll remain a happy neovim user.

It's stagnated, you are right.
The team of developers are building a new major version. And it's been a 'minute'.
There is a huge shift in how the back end will work.

Those who have used logseq for a while are in anticipation (mixed with unease) to see what effects these changes will have on our workflows.

Some transparency in that regard would be highly welcome. That's all we're trying to say. This project was showing promising signs of becoming an indispensable tool, uniting the knowledge base functionality, task lists and project management, journal, etc. and I hope that is still the case.

It's transparent, it's no secret - I'm just a user, and I know about it. It's just focused in the forums.
