I never realized how vulnerable data can be when I just copied things to hard drives and assumed they would be safe there for decades. WM has found several instances where my games, PDFs, pictures and whatnot don't match up for some reason, even though I safely remove hardware, put drives in anti-static bags, and take care of them. I back up all my data on at least three or four drives and run WM checks every year or two to make sure stuff is safe, and now with all my bought and legal movies, games, music, and programs backed up to data, WM gives me that peace of mind to know the data's safe.
