Page scroll with hovering stylus #6310
-
Hi, I am teacher who has been using Xournal since 2017. A feature that I had come to appreciate alot was the ability to erase and scroll pages by merely clicking my respective stylus buttons and hovering (without contact) on my wacom tablet. However when I switched over to Xournal++ a couple of years back, I couldn't find this feature. After much searching I found out that I had to enable "Merge button events with stylus tip events" and also set some configuration using the xsetwacom (Linux) commandline utility: xsetwacom --set ${WACOM_STYLUS_ID} Button 2 "button +2 button +1" I recently switched to Ubuntu and since it's running on Wayland, xsetwacom is not working - so I'm back to not being able erase and scroll pages merely hovering the stylus any longer. I've tried to use xsetwacom's "counterpart" gsetwacom to make the feature work. I've managed to install and even run gsetwacom successfully. But I am not sure what are the command's options to set the right settings. I know this question is not particularly related to Xournal++, but is there anyone by chance, faced and managed to solve this issue? I'd be grateful if anyone could point me to the right direction. Thanks so much. |

I want to scroll paper by pressing a shortcut key (like ALT or space) and dragging on the tablet. Release the shortcut to switch to the original tool (like in RNOTE) |

In addition to enabling the "Merge button events with stylus tip events" setting, you may also want to try to go to "Stylus" section and enable "Ignore the first event" setting. #3948 (comment) |
