Leicester 4-2 Stoke
Leicester striker David Connolly hit a second half hat-trick as the Foxes beat 10-man Stoke at the Walkers Stadium.

Mark de Vries controlled Jason Wilcox's cross and fired home to give the Foxes the lead and on the hour Stoke's Junior was sent off for an off-the-ball clash.

Stoke levelled when Marlon Broomes hooked in before Connolly took over, turning and firing home one goal before bursting clear and slotting coolly in.

John Halls struck to worry the hosts before Connolly chipped in his third.

  • Leicester boss Craig Levein:
"At this rate I'm going to have to get some hair dye, they're going to send me grey," he said after the 4-2 win.

"We played good football and scored some good goals but we also made it so difficult for ourselves.

"I think we were a little bit nervous because there was pressure on us from outside after the 4-1 defeat at Sheffield United on Saturday."

  • Stoke boss Johan Boskamp:
"Joey Gudjonsson pushed into Junior and our player lashed out with his boot, so the red card was correct.

"The players left on the pitch showed a lot of character to go ahead to chase a draw or the win.

"Even with 10 men, we went for it and it was a good game for the spectators. We played good football, created good chances and scored good goals."
