Timberlake continued what's been a whirlwind couple of weeks, landing two top honors from the U.K.'s version of the Grammys -- best international album for "Justified" and the best international male solo artist.
His shocking Super Bowl halftime performance with Janet Jackson quickly fading, the mild-mannered Timberlake let loose after receiving his awards, joking with fans, "This is awesome. This is only my first record so you gotta stick with me. We've got depression and drug addiction to go through."
Timberlake also presented the night's lifetime achievement award, which went to iconic '80s British pop group Duran Duran, whose rendition of their hits "Hungry Like the Wolf" and "Wild Boys" churned up the crowd.
Meanwhile, Beyoncé lit up the stage with her performance of "Crazy in Love," wearing a white Roberto Cavalli dress and nearly half a million dollars worth of diamonds. The pop diva, appearing onstage in a puff of smoke, stopped midway through the song to pull up her top before walking away with the best international female solo artist award.
Other big winners included Dido, who won for best British female solo artist as well as her single, "White Flag."
But it may have been flamboyant British rockers The Darkness, who captured three awards, that put on the best (or at least most ostentatious) show of the evening. After winning for best British group, best British rock act and best British album for "Permission to Land" -- presented by rising 19-year-old star Scarlett Johansson -- the group's cheeky lead singer Justin Hawkins said, "I have to say we probably are the best British group."
Other American artists performing at the Brit Awards included Alicia Keys, Gwen Stefani and Missy Elliott, who collaborated on a version of Prince's song "Kiss," Black-Eyed Peas, 50 Cent and OutKast.
