ONE of the two political parties left in the States Assembly has changed its name.

Jersey Liberal Conservatives is now “Advance Jersey”.

Ahead of the Island’s next general election in June 2026, the party’s application to change its name was endorsed in the Royal Court on Friday.

Founded in 2021, the party fielded five candidates in the following year’s election with two – Deputies Sir Philip Bailhache and Malcolm Ferey – being elected to represent St Clement and St Saviour respectively.

Reform Jersey, the long-standing party in the Assembly, has ten States Members.
