Supernova in NGC 4699
Abstract
J. Maza, University of Chile, telexes that M. Wischnjewsky has discovered a supernova in NGC 4699 on plates taken by L. E. Gonzalez at Cerro El Roble. The object brightened from mpg 17 on June 6.12 UT to mpg 14 on June 10.12. The supernova, 148" east and 131" north of the galaxy's nucleus, is located at the position R.A. = 12h46m36s41, Decl. = -8deg21'21".9 (equinox 1950.0).
