That's awesome. Portable programs on Linux are not as common as on Windows. good to see some statically linked binaries here and there without the bloat of AppImage.

But relying on the program itself to inform you about updates is not very common in the open source world. We are used to package managers, and FlatHub makes it seamless especially because it has auto-update feature.

I don't know how hard it is to package as Flatpak, but I heard HomeBrew is pretty easy to package for. It supports MacOS and Linux, so you hit two birds with one shot.
Most immutable distros include HomeBrew anyway so if Flatpak didn't happen, that's also viable.
