Already pursuing two big names for key roles in “The Seventh Son,” Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. have decided to go with a pair of fresh faces for the two youthful leads, with Sam Claflin and Alicia Vikander now in negotiations for the roles of Tom and Alice.

As first reported by Variety, Claflin and Vikander were among the almost-dozen young thesps testing for the roles this week. The two emerged as favorites among several execs on Thursday. With these deals ramping up, pic is moving closer to a greenlight.

Jeff Bridges is in talks to take on the role of the Spook and Julianne Moore is nearing a deal to play a witch in the pic.

Formerly known as “The Spook’s Apprentice,” the fantasy tale is adapted from Joseph Delaney’s young adult series about a 13-year-old who’s the seventh son of a seventh son and learns about wizardry from a forbidding spook.

Sergei Bodrov will helm, with Thunder Road’s Basil Iwanyk, Legendary’s Thomas Tull and Lionel Wigram producing. Jon Jashni and former Legendary executive Alysia Cotter are exec producing.

Jillian Zaks of Legendary and Erica Lee of Thunder Road are overseeing the project.

Claflin is repped by Independent Talent Group. Vikander is repped by Actors in Scandanavia.
