Legendary Entertainment isn’t the only thing Universal
plans to take from Warner Bros. The studio now plans to release
Legendary’s “Seventh Son,” which WB was still set to release
despite its split from Legendary in July. WB still plans to release
Legendary titles “Godzilla” and the upcoming “300” sequel. U hasn’t
yet picked a release date for the project, which stars Jeff Bridges and Ben Barnes. The deal is part of ongoing negotiations
as Legendary and Warner Bros. finalize their divorce. Any other
films Legendary switches from Warner Bros. to U would likely be
straight distribution arrangements. While Thomas Tull’s production
and financing shingle co-produced many of its films with WB during
the pair’s eight-year partnership, in recent months the company has
made moves to focus more on its in-house slate of fanboy
fare.
