Roberts To "Quit Hollywood"?

Julia Roberts has reportedly made her last movie and will quit acting after appearing on Broadway next year so she can spend time with her baby twins. The Oscar winner recently went back to work for the first time after giving birth to Phinnaeus and Hazel last November, appearing in a music video for rocker Dave Matthews. She has only done voiceover work - for animated movies Charlotte's Web and Ant Bully - since wrapping 2004 movie Ocean's Twelve. Roberts will spend the rest of the year preparing for her theatre debut in Three Days Of Rain which opens next March - and then retire from acting for good. According to sources close to the star, 37-year-old Roberts has had enough of acting, wants to enjoy time with the twins and husband Danny Moder - but she has just one more career goal left to achieve. A friend tells the National Enquirer, "Julia is done with Hollywood and starring in a Broadway play is the chance to make a graceful exit. She's been talking about leaving Los Angeles and stopping the movie roles ever since the twins were born late last November. She wanted a change of scenery, a change of pace and a new challenge." On her Broadway ambitions, the source adds, "She wants to take some chances. Julia doesn't to be known simply as a movie star - she wants to be known as the consummate actress. She wants her kids to be able to look back on her career as something more than just the star of Pretty Woman."

Farrell Sex Tape Restraining Order Extended

Colin Farrell has triumphed in having a temporary restraining order extended against ex-lover Nicole Narain - preventing her from distributing their scandalous sex tape. Last month Farrell filed suit against the former Playboy Playmate, accusing her of taking the video to the press, even though they had reportedly agreed not to allow it into the public arena. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge David Yaffe initially placed a temporary ban on Narain from selling, distributing or showing anyone the raunchy film, but he extended the order on Wednesday. Narain's lawyer Leodis Matthews insists the 31-year-old model has no intention of using the tape for profit, but wants to keep her half of the rights to the saucy film.

Beatty Wins First Round in 'Dick Tracy' Battle

Actor Warren Beatty has been given the go-ahead to proceed with a lawsuit he filed in May in a battle over the film rights to Dick Tracy. Beatty, who starred in and directed the 1990 movie, plans to make a sequel to the comic book detective film, and has launched a legal battle against Tribune Media Services in order to do so. And the actor won the first stage of the wrangle on Wednesday, when US District Judge Dean Pregerson denied the company's motion to dismiss the lawsuit, explaining the case involves issues of contract interpretation and "mixed questions of fact and law" which need to be sorted through in court. Beatty is seeking $30 million in damages and a court ruling that he controls film and other rights. According to the complaint, Beatty obtained film, television and other rights in Dick Tracy from Tribune in a 1985 agreement. Beatty claims that bosses at Tribune then moved to reclaim the rights in 2002, in violation of various notification procedures, and have now "clouded the title" to the rights and made it "commercially impossible" for him to produce a sequel. The first Dick Tracy film was the ninth highest grossing for 1990, raking in $100 million that year.

Lohan To Blast Father in Song

Teen queen Lindsay Lohan is reportedly set to blast her estranged father Michael Lohan in song on her sophomore album. The singer-actress, 19, is currently supporting her mother Dina and younger siblings as her parents battle through their divorce settlement in Nassau County, New York. Dina is seeking full custody of their minor children, as well as alimony and $1 million in damages. Michael is currently in prison in New York state on charges of drink-driving and assaulting his brother-in-law at a family party. An insider tells the New York Daily News, "It's the story of a girl crying to her father, asking him why he did all this to the family, and more so, to her. There's also something about how, as the oldest child, she carries the weight on her shoulders. She asks him, 'If you loved us, why did you do all these things?'" Her representative Leslie Sloane Zelnik confirms, "She's written every word and she's directing the video. It will chronicle the last year and a half of her life. It's kind of her asking her father why he did this. With all this on her shoulders... she's saying, 'You say you loved us, why are you doing this to us?'"

Sizemore's Sex Addiction

Troubled actor Tom Sizemore is battling a rare medical condition that leaves him sexually insatiable. The Saving Private Ryan star was recently diagnosed with priapism, which doctors believe could have been caused by years of alcohol and drug abuse. Sizemore's manager says, "He can have sex nine times without stopping. His condition explains his sexual addiction. He's in the midst of a massive depression, but he's making tremendous progress." A Los Angeles based urologist confirms, "Priapism is an abnormal, persistent, and painful erection that won't go down in spite of orgasm, and can be caused by alcohol or drug abuse." Tucker claims Sizemore's addiction prompted the actor to rig video cameras up around his house, which for the past three years have documented his activities with a string of women he has lured back to his California pad. Three such tapes have been allegedly stolen and are expected to be released on the internet.

Zeta-Jones and Douglas Retreat to Canada

Hollywood couple Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas have invested a staggering sum on a rural site in Quebec, Canada - which they plan to turn into a luxurious ski retreat. The actors-turned-property moguls already have luxury homes in New York City, Los Angeles, Wales, Bermuda and the Spanish island of Majorca, but they have since fallen in love with an idyllic rural residence near skiing mecca Mont Tremblant. Estate agent Michael Clark says, "Last autumn, they chartered a helicopter to scout for a location for their northern pied-a-terre. They zeroed in on Lac Desmarais, which once belonged to a Franciscan order of monks and has remained relatively untouched."

Hilton and Richie Set for Box Office Battle

The rivalry between Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie is set to soar to new heights, following news the former pals' movies will be released on the same day. The feuding beauties, who broke off their long-term friendship earlier this year, have both enjoyed increased celebrity status with their hit reality show The Simple Life. And now House Of Wax star Hilton has reportedly requested a November 4 release date for her upcoming comedy National Lampoon's Pledge This to clash with Richie's Kids In America. According to America's Star magazine, Kids in America producer Andrew Shaifer, who picked the release date for his film four months ago, believes Hilton deliberately selected the date as a publicity stunt. He is reported as saying, "After seeing House of Wax we obviously got the better actress!"

LeBlanc: "Give 'Joey' Another Chance"

Matt LeBlanc promises the second season of his Friends spin-off show Joey will be much better than the first. The show got off to a lukewarm start, failing to overwhelm critics and viewers - but LeBlanc insists it will get better. He says, "The motto around here is that the new Joey is going to be bigger, faster and funnier, and I'm really excited about the new series." LeBlanc also asks fans not to compare early episodes of Joey to the final Friends shows. He adds, "You just can't compare the last season of Friends with the first season of Joey. You have to compare like with like, and so compare the first season of Friends with the first season of Joey. You then have two shows where the cast and crew gel and evolve and the show gets better and better."

'Island' Producers Blame Actors For Flop

The Island's producers have blamed the movie's stars Scarlett Johansson and Ewan McGregor for the critical-mauling its received. Producer Walter Parkes and his wife Laurie have used their website to stage a vicious attack on Johansson and McGregor, claiming their half-hearted efforts have resulted in a poor reception for the high-budget sci-fi epic. And Johansson's talents take the biggest beatings, with the husband and wife team claiming a television actress could have done a more professional job. They write, "Listen those are superstars of the future, not superstars of the present. Even lesser television actresses, quite honestly would have more connection to that audience."

Ledger To Take Time Off

Heath Ledger will take a year off from acting to help when his baby with girlfriend Michelle Williams is born. The couple's first child is due in the autumn, and Ledger - fresh from promoting new movie The Brother's Grimm - doesn't want to go back to work until the baby is at least nine months old. He says, "I want to spend at least a few months bonding. I might do something in the middle of next year because I'll have had a year off by then."
