R.I.P.....

As time has gone by "Vuggevise" is a song I have "learned" to like. And the lyrics are partly very beautiful. They e.g. talk about "the sun has dragged it's curtian" - i.e. the sun has gone down. Poetic.....

Someone said DK entries used to be original in the early 60s. I dunno how? As I found them most - apart from "Dansevise", quite typical. But good that someone can feel so :)

She became 78 y.o.. So I guess it might have been a disease who put an end to her life? In some cases it was not reported. E.g. with Jaques Hustin (Belgium 74) who died on the day 25 years after his ESC-participation.

Yes, always said when one of "our" singers die. But as someome said here, it's life. Every day some people arrive. Everyday some people leave our world. And who knows... maybe a future ESC-singer is born on this day.

Må hun hvile i fred! :(
I remember her best as an actres at Matador, Landmandsliv, Flagermusen & Jul på slottet

But she was fine at both singing and acting.

Rest in peace lady..a fine singer indeed..A nice 60s ballad her entry..but Denmark has grown big in musical terms mostly in the more recent contests than this.
My deepest condolences to all her close ones..

A beautiful song and a very fine singer. R.I.P.

P.S.: Like many other countries Denmark gave us their best and most original entries in the early years of the contest.

My condolences.

R.I.P.

Denmark came up with some highly original songs in the early 1960s and not all of those were awarded with enough votes... this 1962 effort was one... beautiful voice, original song... thank you for the music Ms Winther!

I've just logged in and I read this sad report. :( ESC has been around for a while now and life and death happen inevitably. Ellen Winther gave us a lovely song back in 62 (it's among my top 09 songs from that year). RIP.
