Tatiana Eva Marie, a bohemian actress and singer, and Adrien Chevalier, a violinist from the south of France, met in Paris, where they were both involved in the jazz renaissance. They started a band which they recently brought to New York, in pursuit of new musical adventures. Avalon Jazz Band takes you back to the swing era through French jazz songs, old classics with a hot twist and timeless American standarts. It’s a bridge between the old world and the new, between Parisian charm and American glam, best experienced on a late night with a glass of French wine, here at Brasserie Julien.

Avalon Jazz Band offers a ride in a time machine, and brings you back to the Parisian « zazou » era of the forties. It was a unique time for any kind of artistic expression, influenced by England and America, and strongly opposed to the oppression of the occupation. Those dark yet fertile years brought to the stage artists like Django Reinhardt, Stéphane Grappelli, Boris Vian and Henri Salvador, and forever changed the French musical scene.
