OSLiC & OSCAd 2.0: Free license advice

A session at LinuxTag 2014

Thursday 8th May, 2014

8:30pm to 9:00pm (CET)

We all use open source every day - its a fact. However keeping track of if you are using it correctly - from a license perspective - can be hard.
That is why the Amadeus IT Group and Deutsche Telekom bring you two great solutions that can help you be compliant when it comes to using open source.

###

The Open Source License Compendium (or OSLiC for short) is a PDF document designed to provide you with the following:

  • Support Open Source users to act according to the Open Source License requirements without having to become license experts themselves.
  • Offer strongly reliable and quickly accessible instructions (to-do lists) how to fulfill a touched Open Source license.
  • Consolidate reliable background knowledge by gathering and verifying information from the net and from libraries.

OSLiC is supported and maintained by the Deutsche Telekom.

###

The Open Source Compliance Advisor (or OSCAd for short) is an interactive web GUI designed to guide you through the same process as found in OSLiC, and deliver the same answer at the end.
At LinuxTag 2014, we will be officially releasing OSCAd 2.0, a complete redesign of the original version.
Along with offering the same as OSLiC, OSCAd 2.0 will offer:

  • User-customisable themes and information messages.
  • Multilingual interface.
  • JSON API.
  • and many more improvements...

OSCAd is supported and maintained by the Amadeus IT Group.
