Add Twitter Cards markup to your webpages to display link preview information alongside your site’s links shared on Twitter. Link previews enable additional analytics for your site content shared on Twitter including impressions, clicks, and retweets. Start with a summary card highlighting your content’s title, a brief description, and an image representative of the content.
Attribute content to Twitter accounts
Identify Twitter accounts associated with a webpage by including site
and creator
meta elements in your webpage markup. Twitter may display author and site information alongside link previews and suggest Twitter users follow your account(s).
News organizations using Embedded Tweets in stories may be eligible for display in a related headlines summary on a Tweet detail page.
Link to iOS and Android content
Does your website have an application listed on Apple’s iOS App Store or Google Play for Android? Share your app store identifiers in app meta elements to improve customer targeting on iOS and Android devices.
Include deep links to equivalent content inside your iOS and Android app if available. Twitter’s iOS and Android apps will send visitors into your app’s detail view if your app is installed on the viewer’s device.
Convert readers into subscribers
Add a Follow Button to your website’s pages to convert one-time visitors into engaged Twitter followers.
Make sharing easy
Include a Tweet Button alongside your content to encourage sharing on Twitter. Pre-populate share text and hashtags to create a ready-to-share experience.
