CSS Grid Layout first made an appearance in 2011, the initial version of the specification was authored by Microsoft and implemented into IE10. Rachel Andrew has been experimenting with and writing about this module since those early days and is very excited about the current specification, and implementation in Chrome.
Rachel has been curating a list of examples of Grid on her site at Grid by Example and in this session will break down the complex spec into simple examples that demonstrate the simplicity and power of Grid.
Rachel believes that all developers should take an interest in emerging specifications such as Grid, even if they canât be used in production today. By taking a look and seeing how Grid can map to our existing workflows we are in a position as web developers to offer useful feedback to spec creators and browser implementers.
