The Louisiana Space Grant Consortium
is a member of a nationwide organization that partners NASA with colleges / universities and other space related
institutions to promote scientific research, workforce development, and public outreach to develop and strengthen
long-term research capabilities that will make significant contributions to the research and technology
Mission Directorates of NASA. In turn, this contributes to the overall research infrastructure, science and
technology capabilities, graduate and undergraduate education and economic development of the state. This program is
funded by NASA and the Louisiana Board of Regents. On this web site, we describe the programs conducted by LaSPACE and
also offer useful information for researchers, students, educators and the general public. We welcome comments for
improvements to the content of the site.

Spetember 2018: LSU & ULL researchers receive $3 million from NASA EPSCoR & LA Board of Regents: Louisiana research teams at LSU & ULL were awarded a combined $3 million in Federal and State Funding under the 2018 NASA Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) Implementation Award program. September 2018: HASP completed 12th Flight: The High Altitude Student Platform (HASP) program has completed its twelth flight in Fort Sumner, New Mexico on Sept 4, 2018. For more information please see the HASP website located here.

August 21, 2017: Solar Eclipse Day: The LaSPACE LaACES group participated a national program to live stream HD video of the solar eclipse from a balloon near the ege of space. May 2017: LaACES balloon Launches: LaACES groups from across the state gathered in Palestine, Texas to participate in the annual LaACES scientific balloon launches. Teams from Delgado Community College, Louisiana Tech University, McNeese University, Xavier University, Louisiana State University in Shreveport, and Southern University in Baton Rouge participated in this year's launch.
