Eddie Jackson helps Chicago Bears show what they learned

Chicago Bears safety Eddie Jackson tackles Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson during an NFL game on Monday, Sept. 17, 2018, at Soldier Field in Chicago.

Safety Eddie Jackson wanted the Chicago Bears to show their "new identity" on Monday night in their second prime-time appearance in two games this season.

Last week, the Bears blew a 20-point lead in the second half and lost 24-23 to the Green Bay Packers in the Sunday night game for the opening week of the season, prompting Jackson to say: "We learn from adversity."

On Monday night, Chicago had a 14-point lead in fourth quarter, and although the Seattle Seahawks scored two touchdowns in the final period, the Bears still emerged with a 24-17 victory.

Chicago cornerback Prince Amukamara's 49-yard interception return for a touchdown with 6:37 to play made Seattle's TD with 14 seconds left good only for producing an onside kick, not tying the score.

Amukamara became the first player to return an interception for a touchdown off Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson in a regular-season game since former Murphy High School standout Captain Munnerlyn in the fifth game of Wilson's career in 2012.

Jackson did his part with a full stat sheet. The former Alabama standout made three tackles, registered the first sack of his NFL career, broke up a pass and forced a fumble.

Jackson's sack came on the first snap after an interception gave Seattle the football at the Chicago 43-yard line in the second quarter. The possession fizzled into a punt for the Seahawks and left the Bears with a 7-0 lead.

In the closing seconds of the first half, Jackson broke up a deep pass from the Chicago 46.

Jackson caused Lockett to fumble in the third quarter, but the football went out of bounds, allowing Seattle to retain possession.

While Chicago evened its record at 1-1, Seattle dropped to 0-2. On Sunday, the Bears visit the Arizona Cardinals and the Seahawks host the Dallas Cowboys.
