Bio

I (on the right) am a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, Private Lorenzo Leigh Bennitt Camp #773 in Durham, North Carolina. I am a member of the Point Lookout POW Descendants Organization. My wife and I have been doing genealogy together for almost 20 years. It is our passion. Through my genealogy work I have identified over 900 kinfolk (grandfathers, uncles, and cousins) that served in the Confederate States infantry, cavalry, and navy.

My loving wife and best friend Joyce passed away on Christmas Day 2012 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. When I return to taking my trips to libraries, archives, and cemeteries to continue my genealogy research it will be very difficult without my better half. We worked so well as a team. I miss her. Her memorial is #102701133.
