Bio
*****For the plot format in National Cemeteries, I use the official format used in the cemetery database (00, 0, 000), not the one the VA uses on its website. If you submit edits for minor details like this or gender, expect delays. What matters is who these people are, what they did, who they are related to and maybe, where they hail from. If you submit an edit for an inscription, make sure it is the full inscription (not dates and names) or it will be declined as a partial inscription. If I have to correct it, I will add it all. God bless you for what you do to HONOR those who walked before us.******
FYI: I am no longer accepting edits for GPS location due to the discrepancies. I accept one and then someone else submits a change...
I have been a genealogist for more than 45 years - back before genealogy became popular and I had to write to DC for most of my records. Some of my interest in genealogy can be contributed to the fact that I was reared on land that belonged to my family since 1811. Another fact that contributed is that most of my family lived well into their 90's and some past age 100. I knew people who knew people from the 1700's. Being of Scotch-Irish descent, family clans and history are important to preserve.
Please do not leave obituaries or bio information with a 'flower'. Send them as a suggestion and I will add the information in the proper area.
Also, please do not send edits for information visible on the memorial pages. I often get multiple memorials from fallen gravers that I comb through thoroughly. I will find and post the information in time. I do welcome edits such as family members or relevant places if not in a posted obituary. Thank you.
Military ranks, added as name prefixes on memorials, are reserved for those who were killed in action or died on active duty.
*For all others who served, their rank will be shown in the inscription field of the memorial, if it is engraved on their headstone. (copied but this is the way I manage my memorials too)
Please, DO NOT upload my "person' photos to Ancestry.com. (This does not apply to grave photos.)
As a professional photographer, I retain the copyright for all my photos, but please feel free to save copies of my photos for your personal, non-commercial, use. (This applies to all my photos.)
Good luck and May God Richly Bless and Keep You!
