The original gold Tablet of Ahkmenrah from 2006’s Night at the Museum film, which earned $574.5 million worldwide and launched the franchise.
The 2010 comedy Date Night, which Levy directed, was one of the first films produced by 21 Laps and was based on an idea of Levy’s while he was on a date with his wife. Stars Steve Carell (left) and Tina Fey pulled Levy in for a photograph during a promotional shoot.
Levy expects that many viewers will binge-watch the Netflix series. “It’s deeply addictive,” he says. “I would read a script, give notes on the script and be waiting for my inbox to deliver me the next script.”
Levy bought two copies of this Elliott Erwitt photograph of the actual janitor at the American Museum of Natural History, one for his office and one for Stiller.
Alan Silvestri sent Levy a framed collection of the five different compositions he arranged for Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb. Says Levy, “I made him rewrite the goodbye scene five times until we found the one that made me cry.”
