History (est. 1947)
Holmeswood Coaches Ltd was established in 1947 by Harold Tunks, father-in-law and grandfather of current owners. He started this family business with one bus when he was asked for help by the local council to start transporting children to local schools.
Over the last 70 years, the company has developed through organic growth and the acquisition of other coach operators to its current size of 130+ vehicles, operating from 5 depots throughout Lancashire and Cheshire.
Today
Holmeswood Coaches is owned and operated by the original founder’s grandsons, Duncan, Mark and Colin Aspinall, who over the years have expanded the business to the extent that it is one of the leading coach companies in the UK.
