Shoah's ultimate legacy, however, is being the final word on the Final Solution-one that renders every well-intentioned dramatic re-creation of such horrors into repulsive Ausch-kitsch by comparison.

This is a long movie, but it’s worth watching. I think the length allows it to visit many areas and people, without rushing through or a need to dramatize. I like the pace; it gives the words, places, people, and events the time and respect they deserve. The beautiful yet somber landscapes, the faces, and all the other details add so much to each ‘telling’ within this movie!
