The details of Luis Suarez's move to Barcelona from Liverpool have been revealed - and the transfer fee has come under scrutiny.

Reports at the time of the move in 2014 following the World Cup suggested the Catalans had paid £75million to the Reds for the Uruguayan.

However, the contract shared by website Football Leaks shows it was actually £64,980,000 - over £10million less than originally stated.

The fee was payable in five installments - £13million on July 31 2014, January 31 2015, July 31 2015 and January 31 2016.

An extra £12,980,000 will be paid on July 31 2016.

The leak confirms quotes by Barcelona vice president Jordi Meste in August 2014, who claimed at the time the fee was £65million.

“Luis Suarez had a release clause at Liverpool of £75million. After negotiations, we in the end paid £65million," he said.

Suarez was sold by the Reds after the biting controversy in Brazil where the striker sunk his teeth into Italy's Giorginio Chiellini.

In two seasons at the Nou Camp, he has plundered 68 goals in all competitions, including 43 strikes in as many games so far this term.

Suarez is the latest player in a string of top stars to have their contract details revealed by Football Leaks.

The website last week published the ins and outs of Sergio Aguero's switch to Manchester City in 2011 - including a host of performance-related bonuses.

City signed Aguero for €36million - €12million of which was paid in at the time, with a further €12million being transferred in 2012 and again in 2013.

On top of the initial fee, City agreed to pay €250,000 for every season in which Aguero plundered 15 goals and a further €250,000 for whenever he appeared in 25 games in a single term.

For each of City's two Premier League titles they paid €1million to the La Liga outfit, a fee which will also be paid if City reach a Champions League final during his time at the Etihad.

If they reach a semi-final in Europe's premier competition, €500,000 will be owed.

Luka Modric and David De Gea are among other stars to have their contract details revealed by Footall Leaks.
