Nintendo has announced that the Nintendo Switch is the fastest-selling video game system of this generation, according to data from The NPD Group.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the fastest-selling game in the series on the fastest-selling system this generation
Nintendo is selling a lot of things very quickly

“From its launch in March 2017 through November 2018, Nintendo Switch has sold more than 8.7 million units, outpacing U.S. sales of all other current-generation systems at the same point in their life cycles,” Nintendo said in a statement.
Nintendo is also celebrating the sales of its software, as the NPD Group claims that Nintendo is the “top-selling US publisher” thus far in 2018. And the performance of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate may help cement that ranking.
“This performance should receive an additional boost from the December release of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate game, which has become not only the fastest-selling Nintendo Switch game of all time, but also the fastest-selling game in the Super Smash Bros. series,” Nintendo stated. The game has sold over 3 million copies in 11 days, based on Nintendo’s own numbers.
Other recent games are also doing well. Nintendo has announced that Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Eevee! have sold a total of two million units together, and Super Mario Party has sold 1.4 million copies.
These numbers are only for the United States, making the totals even more impressive.
