MOSCOW -- Czechoslovakia and Laos Saturday joined the Soviet-led boycott of the Los Angeles Olympics and Moscow called President Reagan's promise that the United States would comply with the Olympic charter 'nothing but a figleaf.'

Echoing Soviet complaints, Czechoslovakia and Laos said they were compelled to withdraw from the games because the United States had violated the charter and had failed to provide adequate security for athletes from communist countries.

The United States has denied the allegations.

The two nations joined four other Soviet allies -- East Germany, Bulgaria, Mongolia and Vietnam -- in supporting the Soviet decision to pull out of the games, scheduled to begin July 28.

Moscow dismissed written assurances from Reagan that the United States would uphold the Olympic charter and provide adequate security for athletes.
