The girlfriend of Love Island star Sam Taylor has been rushed to hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest. Sam, who appeared on the popular reality show last year, had only recently gone public with his relationship and is now supporting his partner through this frightening health ordeal.
Em Leah, a 22 year old social media influencer who is dating Chesterfield-born Sam, informed her online followers about her hospitalisation due to her "Cardiac arrest and heart stopping on me... Was not on todays to do list." She took to social media to reassure her followers that she was recovering from the incident and expressed gratitude for Sam's support.
She shared a video of herself in the hospital, featuring hairdresser Sam pushing her down the corridors, and wrote: "Not sure I could've done it without you." In another post showing Em in a hospital bed with a cannula in her arm, she commented: "Cardiac arrest and heart stopping on me... Was not on today's to-do list," reports the Mirror. "I'm okay and in the best place, thank you for all the messages," she added. Sharing a picture of her family, she further wrote: "Not sure where I would be like if I didn't have such amazing people around me." From her hospital bed, she uploaded another image showing the ceiling and said: "Am really going to struggle to reply to everybody!".
"But thank you all again for your kind messages! Honestly put so many things into perspective for me and just made me appreciate the little things. Just a reminder you know what's round the corner and you never know when your last days going to be! Be kind and always."
The influencer, proudly followed by 155,000 people on the Meta photo-sharing platform, expressed her sense of wonder and gratitude, saying: "Just waking up everyday, breathing, feeling my heart beat - those are the miracles. My body, even after everything, brought me back. And for that, I am in awe of it."
Continuing her inspiring message, she added: "I am learning to love myself in a way I never did before - not for how 'perfect' I look or how 'together my life is, but for simply being here. Alive. This experience has reminded me how fragile and beautiful life really is. I don't need to control it - I just need to live it, moment by moment, with gratitude."
Only days after making their relationship Instagram official, Em revealed her frightening health scare. The couple set pulses racing with posts showcasing them in coordinating ensembles - both adorned in black - as they struck a smouldering pose at the camera. Seated, Sam exuded cool as Em, donning a chic little black dress, casually placed a hand on her beau's shoulder.
Their social media declaration was succinctly captioned: "Newest addition," followed by a black heart, echoing their wardrobe choice. Their announcement prompted an outpouring of well-wishes in the comments section. Musician Hugo Godfroy excitedly commented: "Andddd take off," accentuated with a rocket emoji. Another influencer, Holly Hawkins-Smith, warmly enthused: "Happy looks good on you my girl."
Love Island’s Lionel Awudu commented, “The lovely couple. ” and an enthusiastic fan chimed in, saying “Damn sexy couple alert, glad you found someone." Em then posted a sultry picture of herself in black lace lingerie lounging on a couch while Sam gave her what she described as the “Princess treatment. ".
Previously, Sam hinted at the budding relationship by posting a gym selfie with Em. A source told The Sun back then, “Sam is in the early stages of a new relationship and things are going really well. His mates are joking he's acting different now he's got a missus, he's finally tamed!”.
