Real-time Magnetic Resonance Imaging of a child swallowing pineapple juice. Such juice contains an inherent concentration of paramagnetic manganese, which serves as a contrast agent and appears bright. The background noise results from the rapid switching of electromagnets that assist in the imaging process, particularly by encoding spatial information.
