- @Parting ShotI objected to the deletion. The article is about Muslims, so it seems strange and non-encyclopedic to you. It has a great note, as shown in the sources. الموسوي (talk) 01:18, 26 April 2025 (UTC)
- @الموسوي: The tone in the article is not that of an encyclopedia. Also I never said the article seemed strange. I am all for articles about Muslims, just this article happens to have some things that need to be fixed. Please note that if I sound snooty, I do not mean to. Parting ShotTalk to me here. • What I have done on Wikipedia 01:21, 26 April 2025 (UTC)
- @Parting Shot The article is already translated from the Arabic Wikipedia،
- Thank you for your high morals. I hope there are people like you in the Arabic Wikipedia. الموسوي (talk) 01:26, 26 April 2025 (UTC)
- @Parting Shot To make the subject clearer for you, the article is about some of the miracles mentioned related to modern science in the Muslim religious book with sources.
- I don't mean you're arrogant, but it seems the translator didn't explain what I meant well. What should I edit to make it look encyclopedic? الموسوي (talk) 01:23, 26 April 2025 (UTC)
:Actually, never mind. I just realized how ridiculous I'm being. I'll take back the speedy deletion nomination template. Apologies for any inconvenience.Parting ShotTalk to me here. • What I have done on Wikipedia 01:25, 26 April 2025 (UTC)
Ways to improve Physics in the Quran
[edit]Hello, الموسوي,
Thank you for creating Physics in the Quran.
I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:
This article contains lots of interesting facts, but it is not clear that, together, all the fact make for a valid Wikipedia article. WP has policies WP:SYNTH and WP:OR that require the article's topic to be a cohesive topic that independent sources (not the editor/writer) state is a cohesive topic. Suggest that creator of the article provide sources that talk about "Physics in the Quran" as a full/complete topic on its own (i.e. it is not sufficient to have sources for all the separate topics).
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Noleander}}

I have sent you a note about a page you started
[edit]Hi الموسوي. Thank you for your work on Physics in the Quran. Another editor, Noleander, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:
The facts in the article are interesting; but the WP:SYNTH policy requires that a source describe the topic of the article as a cohesive (whole) topic. That is, it is not sufficient that each individual fact have a source ... there must also be an independent source (not the editor) that says "Physics in the Quran" is a whole, cohesive topic.

- Hi @Noleander
- In English Wikipedia everyone is nice and helpful here, I just ask you to explain the problem in a simpler and clearer way so that I can solve it, thank you الموسوي (talk) 15:08, 1 May 2025 (UTC)
- @الموسوي For an article to be valid, the writer (you) must provide two kinds of sources (citation or footnote):
- 1) For each sentence or paragraph in the article, the writer must provide a source (footnote or citation) that contains the fact. The article already does that, and it is not a problem.
- 2) The writer of the article cannot invent a new subject for the article; there must be sources that talk about the full content of the article. Example: if I create a new article with a list of trees that are over 40 meters tall, then I must find a source that talks about "trees over 40 m tall".
- For this article on "Physics in the Quran", you must provide a source that says something like "The Quran has several passages that involve physics. Here they are .." ... the source does NOT need to use those exact words. Is there a source that says something like that? The source should mention Physics; and mention the Quran; and list some of the physics concepts.
- If you cannot find such a source, the English Wikipedia policy WP:SYNTH prohibits the article. In that case, you can still put the individual sentences into English Wikipedia, but it must go into other article, for example Islamic attitudes towards science. Look at the section Islamic_attitudes_towards_science#Science_and_the_Quran and you can see where some science information the Quran is inside a larger article. Maybe your physics information could go there. Noleander (talk) 15:18, 1 May 2025 (UTC)
- @Noleander: Thanks for the clarification, I will add the sources soon. الموسوي (talk) 15:26, 1 May 2025 (UTC)
- @NoleanderI reviewed the sources and all the sources mention the Quranic statement and its explanation. In addition, I was writing the verses within the article, but one of the editors or administrators deleted them. الموسوي (talk) 16:45, 1 May 2025 (UTC)
- I understand that each individual fact in the article has a source, and the source mentions the Quran. That is good. That is requirement (1) in my comment above.
- The next question is requirement (2) from my comment above: Is there a source that talks about "physics in the Quran" in a general way? In other words: is there a source that lists 3 or more of the physics facts (and relates them to the Quran). This is important, because if a writer (you) create an article that collects many facts together and putting them into one article: you (the writer of the article) MUST supply a source that talks about 3 or more of the facts together as a whole topic. That is the WP:SYNTH policy.
- I suggest that you click on WP:SYNTH link and read the instructions there. Maybe that page will explain it better than I am doing. Noleander (talk) 16:53, 1 May 2025 (UTC)
- @NoleanderYes, when I reviewed the sources, I found sources under the title Physics in the Qur’an. الموسوي (talk) 21:43, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
