Using Ballotpedia's technical resources

Through its API, Ballotpedia has developed internal tools that other organizations can take advantage of, like our elected officials lookup tool and Sample Ballot Lookup tool. Outside organizations have also used our API to populate their own applications. Below are some examples of organizations that have used Ballotpedia's API-driven tools to educate their users.

  • Twitter and Ballotpedia team up to provide the social media site with candidate verification assistance. Learn more in our press release here.
  • Ballotpedia worked with Facebook to cover elections in the largest 200 cities by population in 2018 in addition to helping Facebook verify the proper URLs for 2018 election candidates.
  • The Arizona Secretary of State's office developed a new campaign finance tool that uses Ballotpedia's API to pull in introductions for the candidates.
  • In 2016, USA Today used Ballotpedia's API to populate election results.

Email us to find out how our API can benefit your users.

Ballotpedia is not a grant-making foundation.
