The 2026 Nevada gubernatorial election will be held on November 3, 2026, to elect the governor of the state of Nevada. Incumbent Republican Governor Joe Lombardo is running for re-election to a second term in office.
Background
[edit]Nevada is a purple state, where both parties have had success in recent years. Republicans currently hold the governorship after flipping the seat in 2022, and Trump carrying the state in the 2024 presidential election, a state not carried by Republicans since 2004.[1] However, both Senators in the state are Democratic[2][3] and Democrats maintain control of both branches of the state legislature.[4]
