The nucleariids, or nucleariid amoebae, are a group of amoebae that compose the sister clade of the fungi.[1][2] Since it is close to the divergence between the main lineages of fungi and animals, the study of nucleariids can provide crucial information on the divergent lifestyles of these groups and the evolution of opisthokonts and slime mold multicellularity.[3] The holomycota tree is following Tedersoo et al.[4][5][6]
