Welcome to the Byzantine world task force of the WikiProject Greece!
Scope
[edit]This task force is dedicated to the history, culture, and people of the Byzantine Empire (and successor states like the Empire of Trebizond) and the wider Byzantine commonwealth, from the early 4th century to the fall of the last Byzantine remnants in the second half of the 15th century. It aims to serve as a point of reference for editors interested in the topic and will facilitate some administrative tasks on Byzantine-related articles, and as the Wikipedia-internal counterpart to the Byzantine Empire Portal. A (mostly) complete, manually updated listing of all Byzantine-related articles can be found at the Index of Byzantine Empire-related articles. If you wish to contribute, a good place to begin is the list of missing articles (redlinks). Newly created or greatly expanded articles should be added to the new articles page of the Byzantine Empire Portal.
Related projects and task forces are the Classical Greece and Rome WikiProject, which covers Late Antiquity (early Byzantine period) as well, the Middle Ages WikiProject, which covers the middle and later Byzantine periods, the Military History WikiProject's Roman and Byzantine, Medieval, Crusades, early Muslim, Balkan, Middle Eastern, and African task forces, the Eastern Orthodoxy WikiProject, and the Ottoman Empire WikiProject.
