• Zim - Zim is a graphical text editor used to maintain a collection of wiki pages.

• Tidlywiki - Non-linear notebook for capturing, organising and sharing complex information. Single html file with all the characteristics of a wiki - including all of the functionality (including editing, saving, tagging and searching) and the style sheet.

• Zoho Notebook - Mobile/Web/Desktop app to take multiple forms of notes.

• Tomboy-ng - desktop note-taking application for Linux, Windows, and Mac OS X.

• Obsidian - Free for personal use app, that works on top of a local folder of plain text Markdown files.

• Joplin - Joplin is a free, open source note taking and to-do application, which can handle a large number of notes organised into notebooks. Supports import from Evernote.
