Description

Project for the Wikimedia Commons community.

The intention behind this project is:

  • Better organization for specific communities. Commons has specific needs and a well-organized community which is expected to be actively involved in this Phabricator project and this project's tasks.
  • A potential bridge between non-technical users and developers: Not many users will know that a problem is related to some specific MediaWiki extension, but most users will be able to tell that their problem is happening in Commons. The Commons Phabricator project can be watched by tech ambassadors and other users who know the community and its technical links well and can help those users and triage those tasks.

The fourth is also not in either swift cluster per swift stat wikipedia-commons-local-public.fd 'f/fd/Yankees_Baseball_(3)_(10561732746).jpg'. It is again in both backup clusters, and the original is still online at flickr.

Second isn't in either swift cluster per swift stat wikipedia-commons-local-public.21 '2/21/Yankees_Baseball_(1)_(10562830654).jpg'. This is in both backup clusters, but again also still available online, so probably easiest to re-upload from the original?

So, the first isn't in either swift cluster per swift stat wikipedia-commons-local-public.8b '8/8b/Yankees_Baseball_(4)_(10561723864).jpg' The easiest thing here is probably to reupload it from the original which is still online? Looking in the backups, the eqiad backup system never had a copy, there is one in the codfw backup system. So most likely it wasn't properly uploaded to both clusters originally.

This image exists in both swift clusters, dating back to 2021 - 30 June 2021 in eqiad, 5 January 2021 in codfw.

Temporarily reducing size to 20,000 × 15,869 pixels, 317.38 Megapixels, makes it works.

I downloaded Himalaya,_Indian_Atlas,_sheet_66_\(15219000\).jpg from both clusters and checked they were identical images, and they are (md5sum 5eef31842c22488b82f0cd19c7a2a21e), so I am confident this is a thumbor issue with the image rather than an inconsistency in swift. And it is a pretty huge image!

Workaround applied at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Rail_Bridge_(Humphery)_Gayndah_(2002).jpg which now displays thumbnails in en wikipedia and commons happily
