US $ 10,000 Worth of Donations by Auradicals Foundation

The Princess Christian Maternity Hospital (PCMH) have benefited from a supply of medical equipment worth US$10,000 donated by Auradicals Foundation International, a new charity.

A founding member of the foundation, Alhassan Kargbo told Journalists in Freetown that they got funds from individual contributions from members of the Auradicals in Sierra Leone and the Diaspora to support the fight against infant mortality which he said was high. Mr. Kargbo urged staff of the PCMH to utilize the equipment for their intended purposes.

In acknowledging Sierra Leone’s consistent progress in combating corruption in all facets, the Auradicals Foundation as part of its partnership endeavour to foster nation building instituted a national essay competition (August-December 2010) on the topic “Governance, Democracy and Corruption: The role of the Anti-Corruption Commission in addressing these concepts in Sierra  Leone." As a foundation we fully acknowledge the impact of corruption on the development of Sierra Leone . It is our firm belief that such essay competitions will raise more awareness about corruption issues and proffer measures to address such a national malaise.

Hospitals in Sierra Leone get Donations from Australia

Connaught and Bo Government hospitals have received donated medical equipments from Australia. The medical equipments which included two Laparoscopic or Arthroscopic sets were donated by a Sierra Leonean: Dr. Bernard Tamba-Lebbie, living and working in Australia as a consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon. The donated items were entrusted in the care of Mr. Teddy Foday-Musa, for onward delivery to the two government hospitals. On the 26th January, the medical superintendent in Bo, Dr. A.P Koroma, received the equipments on behalf of Bo government hospital, while on the 28th January; Dr T.B. Kamara received the other set of equipments on behalf of Connaught hospital.
