Police have launched a hunt for a knifeman after an attack in Woolwich saw a 20-year-old rushed to hospital.

The Met says officers were first called just past 5pm last night (Saturday, May 11) to Marine Drive, a quiet street not far from Woolwich Dockyard station in South East London.

There they found a young man, in his 20s, suffering from stab wounds. They managed to get him to hospital where doctors thankfully found they weren't life-threatening.

The attacker, however, hasn't been caught, and police are appealing to the public for anyone who may have information.

A Metropolitan Police Spokesperson said: “At 17:12hrs on Sunday, 11 May police were called to reports of a stabbing on Marine Drive, SE18.

“A man in his 20s was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service where his injuries were deemed to be not life-threatening or life-changing.

“At this early stage no arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.

“Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or contact X @METCC and quote CAD5050/11MAY.”
