Tom Hardy plays a cop navigating the criminal underworld in Havoc, Gareth Evans’ new action thriller. Havoc brought out the action fans this past weekend as it debuted at No. 1 on Netflix. Other new entries in the top five include American Sniper, Clint Eastwood’s war biopic, and A Dog’s Way Home, a touching family adventure. 10. The Croods (2013)
One night, Eep sneaks out and meets Guy (Ryan Reynolds), a modern teenage boy. Guy introduces the Croods to new inventions, much to Grug’s dismay. While Grug refuses to adapt, the rest of the Cruds want to live by the new rules. When Guy informs the Croods about an impending apocalypse, Greg must decide whether to trust this new stranger.
9. Bullet Train Explosion (2025)
Bullet Train Explosion is a race against time, a sequel to and reimagining of 1975’s Japanese film The Bullet Train. In layman’s terms, Bullet Train Explosions is Speed on a train. In the movie, a bomb is planted on the Hayabusa No. 60 train to Tokoyo. It will explode if the train drops below 100 km/h. Time is not on the side for Conductor Takaichi (Tsuyoshi Kusanagi), Conductor Fujii (Kanata Hosoda), and driver Matsumoto (Non).
To save the passengers, the train employees must find a way to either defuse the bomb or get everyone off the train before it explodes. Considering these trains move at high speeds, getting people off will be no easy task.
8. The Life List (2025)
Sofia Carson is on a mission to complete a series of tasks in the romantic dramedy, The Life List. Alex Rose (Carson) is not living her dream life. To make matters worse, Alex’s mother, Elizabeth (Connie Britton), dies after a battle with cancer. During the reading of the will, Alex learns that she has been passed over for CEO at her company.
When she’s alone, Alex watches a video from Elizabeth, asking her to complete a set of bucket list tasks. As she completes a task, she will learn more about her inheritance. This list takes Alex throughout the city as she starts living life to the fullest. Who knows, she might even find love.
7. Murder at Yellowstone City (2022)
Murder at Yellowstone City is a whodunnit Western that depicts exactly what it says in the title. A prospector is killed after striking gold. Who did it? That’s a job for Sheriff Jim Ambrose (Gabriel Byrne). The top suspect is Cicero (Isaiah Mustafa), a former slave new to town who does not know about the sheriff’s villainous ways.
As the investigation furthers, it becomes more apparent that Cicero is innocent, despite Ambrose’s bias. Thaddeus Murphy (Thomas Jane), the town’s new minister, and his wife, Alice (Anna Camp), defy Ambrose and work to clear Cicero’s name. Being that it’s a Western, prepare for a lethal shootout with deadly consequences.
6. Oklahoma City Bombing: American Terror (2025)
The Oklahoma City bombing is the deadliest act of domestic terrorism in the history of the United States. On April 19, 1995, Timothy McVeigh bombed a federal government building in downtown Oklahoma City. The deadly act killed 168 people and injured hundreds more. Filmmaker Greg Tillman thrusts viewers into the action of that fateful day.
How did this happen? Why did McVeigh do it? How did they capture him? Tillman attempts to answer these questions through firsthand accounts from survivors, rescue workers, and the authorities who remember that fateful day.
5. Despicable Me 4 (2024)
The popular Minions return in Despicable Me 4. After spending years as a villain, Gru (Steve Carell) is now a secret agent for the Undercover Anti-Villain League (AVL). While attending a class reunion, Gru runs into his old rival, Maxime Le Mal (Will Ferrell). After learning Maxime enhanced himself with cockroach body parts, Gru had him arrested and sent to prison.
The incarceration does not last long after Maxime escapes prison and goes after Gru and his family. Forced into hiding, Gru and his family move to a safe house in a new town. Gru must devise a plan to stop Maxime from turning his son into a cockroach hybrid.
4. A Dog's Way Home (2019)
People love movies about canines, and A Dog’s Way Home fits the bill. After living in an abandoned house with stray cats, puppy Bella (voiced by Bryce Dallas Howard) is taken home to live with Lucas Ray (Jonah Hauer-King) and his mother, Terri (Ashley Judd). After a misunderstanding with animal control, Lucas sends Bella from his home in Denver to live with his uncle in New Mexico.
Missing Lucas, Bella decides to embark on a 400-mile journey back to Denver. Bella meets some interesting characters along the way: an orphaned cougar cub, a group of men, and coyotes. Despite these setbacks, Bella is determined to complete her two-year expedition to reach Lucas and get home.
3. American Sniper (2014)
Clint Eastwood adapts the memoir of the late Chris Kyle in American Sniper, a war biopic that received six Oscar nominations. In the late ’90s, Texan Chris Kyle (Bradley Cooper) enlists in the Navy and qualifies to become a sniper in the SEALs. After marrying Taya Studebaker (Sienna Miller), Kyle heads to Iraq after the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
While overseas, Kyle becomes one of the most decorated snipers in U.S. history. However, Kyle’s multiple tours of duty affect his relationships with Taya and his children. American Sniper is a heartbreaking story of a conflicted hero who struggles to move on from the war and finds his toughest battle on American soil.
2. iHostage (2025)
Most of you will correctly guess that iHostage involves tech giant Apple. However, did you know the thriller is based on a true story? In iHostage, Dutch national Ammar Ajar (Soufiane Moussouli) walks into an Amsterdam Apple Store and demands $200 million. Ammar is armed and willing to hurt innocent people if he does not get what he wants — cryptocurrency and safe passage out of the city.
Chief negotiator Lynn (Loes Haverkort) is called to the scene and asked to diffuse the situation. While trying to empathize with Ammar, Police Commander Kees van Zanten (Marcel Hensema) works on getting the hostages out safely. It’s a tense thriller that might end in tragedy if not handled with precise care.
1. Havoc (2025)
Gareth Evans, the director of The Raid movies, returns with a new action thriller, Havoc. Tom Hardy stars as Walker, a weathered detective who stumbles into the city’s criminal underworld. The estranged son of a politician finds himself entangled in a drug deal gone wrong.
The politician in question, Lawrence Beaumont (Forest Whitaker), orders Walker to find and protect his son. Walker is on Beaumont’s payroll, so he reluctantly obliges. Walker heads down a path of no return, as he navigates corruption, conspiracy, and a ruthless crime syndicate.
